Service Terms
These terms apply to every in-home service visit by Fixlet Appliance Repair and Refrigeration (“Fixlet”, “we”, “us”). By scheduling a service you accept them. Your technician will also ask you to approve them on the estimate before any work begins.
Service call fee
The service call covers the visit, inspection, diagnosis and a written estimate. The standard service call is $125; complex, built-in or double appliances use the $185 advanced service call.
- If you approve the repair, the service call fee is applied toward its cost.
- If you decline the repair, you pay only the service call fee. It is non-refundable and does not include any repair work.
- The fee still applies if the problem cannot be reproduced, is not found, or is intermittent.
- When we inspect more than one appliance in the same visit, a discounted fee may apply to the additional appliances. They must be listed on the work order before we inspect them.
Estimates and repair pricing
Repairs are priced by the job using an industry rate guide, not by the hour. You get a written estimate for parts and labor before any work begins, and nothing is repaired without your approval. If more work turns out to be needed, we will explain it and ask for your approval first.
Cancellations and rescheduling
Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your appointment. With shorter notice, a charge of up to 100% of the service call fee may apply, plus shipping and the cost of any non-returnable parts ordered for your repair.
Payment
Payment is due when the service is provided, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. We accept Cash, Zelle, Check with no extra fee; Credit Card, Venmo, Cash App payments carry a 4% transaction fee, which is shown as a separate line on your invoice.
Past-due balances may accrue interest and service charges. A returned payment carries a $30 fee. If an account goes to collection, the customer is responsible for collection costs, including attorney’s fees.
Warranty
- Our repair work carries a 90-day labor warranty.
- Parts are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. Shipping for warranty parts is paid by the customer.
- Intermittent problems carry no labor warranty.
- The warranty is void if you decline a repair we recommended, or if the appliance is damaged or worked on by others after our visit.
- Electrical and special-order parts generally cannot be returned.
If the same problem comes back, call us at (208) 506-5001 and we will sort it out with you directly.
Appliances under another warranty
If your appliance is covered by a manufacturer warranty, an extended warranty or a service contract, and that provider does not pay for the visit or the repair, the customer is responsible for the cost.
Installation
Standard installation does not include modifying gas, water, drain, electrical or venting systems. These must be ready and meet local code before the visit.
Outside contractors
If the work requires another trade, such as a plumber or an electrician, we will tell you. The customer pays that contractor directly, in addition to our service call fee.
Risks and liability
Inspecting and repairing appliances carries some unavoidable risks: moving the appliance, water leaks from old supply lines, lifting cooktops, sealed-system and refrigerant work, and existing electrical problems. By allowing work to begin, you accept these risks, and we are not liable for damage they cause unless it results from our negligence. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service.
